Summer Ómbre Eye Tutorial ft. The Naked 2 Palette

Hey Girls!
Right now I am in my car heading to my vacation spot so my posts may not be that great this week. (BTW on my phone it says I posted this on Saturday, but I'm posting this on Sunday.) I took a couple of pictures so I could post on my phone, but like I said, there not going to be anything great. For instance, the pictures may be awkwardly placed, and the font will be different. Also, the pictures aren't great, you can't really see the ómbre. Without further ado, I will get started with the Summer Tutorial. (BTW most of these eyeshadows are from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.)

First I started with crease because I wanted the lid colors to be for vibrant. (You can't really pick it up in the pictures that well :)) So I took UD Suspect (light shimmery brown) and applied that with the fluffy crease brush that comes with the Naked2 Palette. Then to darken it up just a little, I took UD Snakebite (dark shimmery brown) and applied that into my outer crease and thoroughly blended it.

Next, I took MAC All That Glitters (brown with golden/copper shimmers) eyeshadow and applied it to the center of my eyelid using the flat shader side of the Naked2 Palette. Then I took UD Half-Baked (shimmery golden) and applied that to the first 1/4 of the lid closest to the inner corner. After that, I took UD Chopper (shimmery copper) and applied that next the All That Glitters on the outer lid. Finally you're going to blend those eyeshadows for an ómbre effect.

For a browbone highlight, I applied UD Foxy (beige). As for inner corner highlight, I took Stila eyeshadow in Kitten (shimmery champagne-is that how you spell it?) and (you can you an eyeliner brush-but I don't have one) I took the top of the flat shader brush and dipped/ran through the eyshadow and applied it to the inner corner, and then I ran it along my lower lashline. I also took Half-Baked again and applied it to my waterline. For eyeliner, I wanted a really natural look because I know a lot of people don't like wearing a lot of makeup during the Summer. So I took my Smashbox eyeliner in Espresso and lightly lined half of my lash line. Next I curled my eyelashes and then applied two coats of Maybeline's Great Lash BIG mascara.

Hope you enjoyed!

My Travel Essentials for my Purse

Hey Girls!
So I was going to do a "What's in my Purse?" but I decided it would be easier to do this. Also, if I ever do a "What's in my Purse?" blog post, you can come back to this post to see what I add when I go away. I'm not going on a plane, so this isn't a carry on bag. I have a 2 1/2 hour car ride, so I want to keep myself somewhat busy. This is just an outline. I haven't packed it yet, but one or two things may change. Here's what I'm bringing:

First, I will be bringing my EOS Lip Balm in Summer Fruit. I use this so much regularly that I don't keep it in my purse. Also, I don't carry around my purse everywhere I go. Normally I bring it on vacations, but that's about it. If I do go out with my friends, I normally bring a wristlet or something.
Second, I'm bringing my Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Roller Ball. This is the only perfume/body mist I'm bringing, so I thought I would carry it in my bag. Furthermore, the scent doesn't seem to last all day long, so it's great to do touch ups occasionally.
Third, I'm bringing my book, Once by Anna Carey which is the next book in the Eve trilogy. I can read for a little bit in the car ride, but I'm also going to read this when I'm sitting on the beach.
Fourth, I'm bringing ear buds. I have a pink pair from the brand Maxwell. I carry them in my Motorola case that used to carry my Motorola earphones that I got with my phone. This case is great because it keeps your headphones untangled and safe.
Fifth, I'm bringing my phone which is a Verizon LG Ally. I don't have an iPod, so I use my ear buds for my phone, so I can watch YouTube videos and stuff. I'm including it in this because I put it in my tote anytime I have it. But otherwise it's never in there.
Sixth, I'm also bringing my phone charger in my bag.
Seventh, I will probably end up carrying something of my older brother's, like his phone or iPod or something, or my mom's iPad.
Into my cosmetic bag (which is from Victoria's Secret PINK-it came in a set of three, a mini, medium, and large. Unfortunately, they do not sell it anymore.)
Eighth, I'm bring my MAC Mineralize Concealer in NW15. You never know when you have an urge to cover up something! It's a little light since I got some color, but otherwise it's great.
Ninth, I'm bringing my Maybeline Baby Lips in Pink Punch in my cosmetic bag because I don't use it as much as my EOS, and also, if I want some color to my lips, I will use this product.
Tenth, I will be bringing my Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens because you never know if you start getting hot and then start sweating, or if you become oily.

So I am adding only 10 extra products/things into my bag (which by the way is this style in Blue Lagoon from Vera Bradley, which I got for Christmas from my parents). Hope you enjoyed! -Kait

HAUL: Getting Ready For Vacation (Updated)

Hey Girls!
So I wanted to do a post today because I haven't had one up in four days, and normally I like to do them every 2-3 days. I had a post in mind, but I didn't have the picture ready, so I just decided to do this post, and that post will also be easier to do on my phone when I am traveling. As you could tell from the title, I am doing a haul. The ironic thing about this haul is I haven't purchased everything yet. I'm either going to CVS today or tomorrow, but I know exactly what I am going to get. Three out of five of these products I already bought, but I will be purchasing the last two soon. Yes, I am going on vacation for a week in a couple of days (I'm leaving on Sunday), so I won't be able to post as much as I do. Anyways, let's get into the haul.

Yesterday I went to the bookstore to pick up some books that I can read while I am at the beach. I'm currently reading one, but the other one I am saving for vacation.
1) Crescendo | Becca Fitzpatrick (Sequel to Hush, Hush-I have a book review on that.)

(I was going to also purchase Silence, but they did not have it.)

2) Once | Anna Carey (Sequel to Eve)
(I am going to bring this book on vacation with me.)

3) Aussie Anti-Frizz Cream
      (I have a review coming.)

I haven't purchased these two products yet:

4) CVS Pharmacy Targeted Acne Spot Treatment
(I have a review here. This will be my 4th bottle believe it or not!)

5) Maybeline Baby Lips in Pink Punch
If they don't have this color, I might get another EOS. I still have a little dome left on my EOS but I wanted a pink-tinted lip balm.

Hey guys!
So I did go to the drugstore yesterday and I did get the Baby Lips and my acne spot treatment, but I did pick up two more things. One of them I don't need for vacation since I'm getting my nails done before I go, and the other I do. Starting with the object I do need:

6) Maxwell Earbuds
(Got these at Walmart)

7) Sally Hansen Xtreme Nail Polish in 27 Mellow Yellow
(I never had a yellow nail polish, and I thought this was such a pretty color!)

Hope you guys enjoyed! :)

Book Review: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (My 1st Book Review!)

Hey Everyone!
As much as I love beauty, I love to read books. I have never been a big reader until I read THG, and now I have been collecting books since then. I know most of you are here for beauty, so I will be only doing this occasionally. Let's say I get 3 books from the bookstore, I may only do a review on one. Let me know if you like these. I personally really like sharing book recommendations, and I thought this was a great way to share. If you want to check out the current book I'm reading or read and would like to see a book review, check out my Goodreads account to follow up on that. Without further ado, let's get into the book review! BTW this are not spoiler-free posts, but I will let you know when they start, that way you know if the book sounds interesting to you. :) (Don't forget to leave questions for my Q&A post!)
Hush, Hush | Becca Fitzpatrick 5/5
Labels: Paranormal, Romance, Fantasy, Fiction, Young Adult, Mystery
Sequels: Crescendo, Silence, and then Finale (Finale comes out 10/23/12)
Find more out here, at Goodreads.

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)First of all, I really enjoyed this book. At times it was creepy, but it was very suspenseful and mysterious which made me want to keep reading. Normally I'm not into paranormal things, and I didn't think I would like this book, but I was surprised at how much I loved it. It's not my favorite book, but it's definitely in my top 10. I really liked it because of the suspense it had, and it (as people say) kept me on the edge of my seat (or bed, where I was reading :)).
The synopsis on the back of the book says, "A Sacred Oath, A Fallen Angel, A Forbidden Love. When Nora and Patch are forced together as lab partners, Nora would rather fall to her death than put up with his elusive answers to her questions, his teasing, and his infuriatingly handsome face and hypnotizing eyes. It seems Patch was put on earth just to drive her crazy. But before long, Nora's defenses start to break down as her curiosity about Patch heats up. Why does he always seem to be wherever she is and know exactly what she's thinking? How does he know what to say to both attract and repulse her? And what is up with those V-shaped scars on his chiseled back? As their connection grows stronger, Nora's own life becomes increasingly fragile. Nora needs to decide: is Patch the one who wants to do her harm, or the one who will keep her safe? Has she fallen for one of the fallen?" (BTW I typed all that! Not copied and pasted!)
So pretty much, in my own words, Patch and Nora end up sitting together in biology. Patch seems different and dark and has a huge secret to him. However, Nora is somehow attracted to him. (Spoilers start to kinda happen, but they will increase-you are warned! hehe) Some incidents happen which make Nora start to wonder about how safe she is, and if Patch is up to this-pretty much she starts getting curios about her life and safety, as well as Patch's own life. Nora and her friend, Vee, end up meeting these two nice boys named Elliot and Jules. They start to hang out with them as friends until Nora starts to get curious about why Elliot really left his old school. He said that his family couldn't afford his private school, but Nora didn't really believe that so much. When Nora looks more into this situation, she discovers that Elliot was (I'm not sure if he was actually guilty, or if he was suspected) of murder of a girlfriend. Elliot starts acting more weird, as Jules still stays quiet and bored. To speed things up, Patch is a fallen angel and wants to become human, but he can only do that if Nora is killed because she is a decendent of Chauncey. A few times he actually tried to kill Nora, but because he's an angel, he could make her see things and have her not realize what he was actually doing. As it turns out, Jules was also trying to kill Nora because of revenge or something (he was the one who caused a lot of the incidents, like jumping in front of Nora's (well Vee's) car). End of story is that Nora's high up, Jules is after her, Nora jumps down, dies, but because she's related to Jules because he's Chauncey (it makes a lot more sense in the story) and stuff he dies too. Now that Nora died and sacrificed her life, Patch could become human, but he turned the offer down, therefore saving Nora's life and bringing her back alive and becoming her guardian angel.
My thoughts on the book were that I actually suspected it was either Elliot or Jules that was the person jumping in front of the car, robbing her house, and trying to kill her, etc. I thought Jules at first because he was never around when Nora was in a creepy situation. For instance, at the park, Jules went to the bathroom, and then Nora saw a hooded figure, and then it disappeared. But then when Elliot came to Nora's house and almost forced her to go camping with him, Jules, and Vee, I started suspecting him. I don't understand why on Goodreads people are rating it 1 star. I mean it does have a rating of 4.01, but I was looking at people's review, and on the first page a lot of people rated it one star.
So overall, I really liked this book and would recommend it. :)

Review: Maybeline's Mega Plush Mascara

Hey Girls!
I recently went to CVS and while I was there, I picked up Maybeline's new mascara, Mega Plush Volum' Express. I got it in blackest black. First of all, it's formula is a gel which I think is pretty interesting. It doesn't feel brittle on your lashes at all. I like the way it makes my lashes look though. The mascara makes my lashes look natural with one coat, just blacker, a little more thick, and a little more length which I really like. However, you can apply as many coats as you want and the volume and length of your lashes will increase. Because of the flex-i-ness of the wand, you can get from the bottom of your lashes to the top with no problem. I don't know how much it was when I bought it, but right now on CVS it's on sale for $5.62, with an original price of $7.49 (USD). Overall, I really recommend this mascara! :) (BTW, sorry for the picture, it isn't that great.)

June Favorites

Hey Girls!
Today I am going to be sharing my favorite products for the month of June. I'm going to try not to do repeats. I don't have a lot this month so yeah!
  1. Lancome Juicy Tube Smoothie | Spring Fling- I have a deluxe size version of this product and I love it. It smells/taste really good and isn't very sticky, and it mosturizes your lips too. I love the color I have, it's a nude-peach color.
  2. Bare Minerals (Bare Escentuals) Prime Time Eyelid Primer- This isn't as great as the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (personally), but it's still a really great product. It lasted me all day.
  3. Stila Eyeshadow | Kitten- This eyeshadow color is really pigmented and is a great formula. It's such a great inner corner color!
  4. Fresh Supernova Mascara- This mascara is my current favorite of this month. I love the formula and it lengthens really well.
  5. Taylor Swift Wonderstuck Roll On- I absolutely love this scent. It smells fruity and sweet, but not overpowering of either. Some part of it reminds me of vanilla.
  6. Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens- I couldn't find this on Sephora, but there are some sets that include it like this set and this set. The sheets pick up oil and sweat, with out picking up makeup. It also has green tea in it, which helps freshens and soothes your face.
Favorite Book This Month: Legend by Marie Lu. You can get it online at Barnes & Noble.

That's about it. I told you it wasn't much! Haha, anyways, hope you enjoyed!
