Update-School!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry about not having a post in a little while. Tomorrow I have my first day of school, and I didn't do my summer schoolwork yet, so as you can tell, I've been busy with that. (I'm actually supposed to be doing schoolwork right now! Shhh! Haha) I'm actually kind of nervous for school because none of my friends are on my team this year! Anyways, posts may be a little rocky (as in I won't be doing them regularly.) Whether you've started school or not, I wish you the best of luck. If you have any advice make sure to leave it in the comments; not only for me, but anyone else who sees this post. Also, for some reason, my follower part of the blog (on the right) isn't showing up. If you know how to fix this, let me know please!! Bye for now! -Kait :)

HAUL: Back to School | Basics

Hey Everyone!
Yesterday I went back to school shopping for just some basic things. I got seven things total. For the disclaimer, my mom did buy my back to school clothing, and I bought the unrelated clothing purchase. I am not trying to brag at all!! As the next few months go on, I will be adding. For instance, Tuesday I'm going to go get a pair of flats, because the pair I have broke, and the other pair are too uncomfortable to wear to school all day. Anyways, let's get started!

First from Abercrombie & Fitch, I got three of the Bridget Tank in Navy, White, and Light Gray. Although, I got the light gray in the wrong size so I will have to exchange it. This are great to layer with!
Bridget Tank

Next from Abercrombie and Fitch, I got Brittan Sweater in White. Again, great for layering, and this way you can throw it over any summer tops and have it look right for Fall.

Then from Hollister I got the Balboa Island Top in Navy with White Dots.

And then I got San Pedro Bay Top in Navy.

Lastly from Sephora I got a Korres Lip Butter in Quince.

The Naked 2 Palette-Is It Worth It?

Hey Girls!
Today's post is about the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay. The palette is a $50 palette, so it takes some thought into whether or not you want this palette. From my point of view, I will be sharing if you should get it or not if you've been debating about it.
First of all, this eyeshadow palette contains 12 different eyeshadows. When you break it down, (50/12) it equals to about $4 per eyeshadow. That's insane. UD eyeshadows are normally $20. Sure, these eyeshadows are smaller, but they're about half the size of a regular one, if that. Don't forget you get a double-sided brush. An eye shader brush and a fluffy crease brush. You also get a mini Lip Junkie. For money, yes, I would say it's worth it.
Also, the eyeshadows are really nice quality as well as the brush and lip gloss. The Naked 2 case itself is very travel friendly. I dropped mine, and nothing broke or scratched. (Then again, I did drop it on a table...) The colors are also a very nice selection. You have warm tones, like Foxy, Half-Baked, Chopper, and Suspect, and you also have cool tones like Bootycall, Tease, etc. I highly recommend this if you are considering this palette. Hope this helped!

Back to School: My Top 3 Body Mists/Perfumes

Hey Girls!
So this post that I'm doing today can be non back-to-school related, but these top three scents are what I will most likely be wearing, and I recommend them all!
  1. Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Perfume-It's a sweet, fruity scent, and has an almost vanilla smell to it. It's perfect for everyday school wear, well... all of these are.
  2. Victoria Secret's PINK Soft & Dreamy Body Mist-This scent is a great nighttime scent. Not like 'going out' but literally it makes me feel sleepy. I don't know if I do this to reflect my mood or if it's just a coincidence, but I always wear this when I'm tired. It's warm sweet scent that kind of reminds me of marshmallows and whipped cream.
  3. B&BW Sweet Pea Fragrance Mist-This is one of B&BW's most bought scents, so you might know what it smells like. It's a fruity floral and it smells really nice. This is also similar to PINK's Pretty & Pure scent, although that one has more of a (PINK's) Fresh & Clean scent to it, which I like, but I prefer Sweet Pea.
Let me know if you have any of this scents and what you think of them!

Back to School: First Day Outfit Tips

Hey Girls!
So I was planning on writing a good post today, but I had a sleepover with my friend last night, so I am very tired. Unfortunately, that post is going to have to wait. But in the meantime, I have some tips to help you out on deciding what you should wear on your first day.

     1. Wear something comfortable, cute, and you!
The first day of school is important, but personally, I don't think you need to dress up for the first day. My first tip is to wear something that's comfortable, cute, and you! You are probably going to be even the slightest bit nervous for the first day (just admit it ;)) so you want to wear something comfortable, that maybe you've worn before. Also, the cute part is kind of obvious. Who doesn't want to look cute? You never know, someone may ask where you got something-BOOM friendship initiation. (Or as Harry puts it in the sixth movie "Poof". Comment if you remember that part :)) Furthermore, you just want to be yourself.
     2. Dress it up
Like I said, I don't think you need to dress up on the first day of school because, sure it's important, but I mean, it's just school. My recommendation to you is to dress it up a little bit. Maybe instead of stud earrings wear dangly earrings or put on bracelets, curl your hair, etc.
     3. Wear something makes makes you feel confident
Everyone is in the same boat on the first day. (That would be kinda cool if I meant that literally.) So you might be nervous, most likely. If you wear something that makes you feel happy and confident, people will want to get to know you. I don't think I need to explain further. :)
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed those tips! Talk to you soon guys! -Kait

THG: Casting Updates, and News for Mockingjay Movie

Hey Everyone!
Since I last did a THG post, a bunch of things have changed. A couple characters have been cast, such as Johanna Mason. (One of my favorites! If you read Divergent/Insurgent, she reminds me of Lynn!) Also, Mockingjay has a release date! I heard about this a little while ago, but I thought it would be too short for a post. Anyways, here's a list of the new cast and Mockingjay movie dates. Also, Mockingjay is going to be filmed back to back!
Mockingjay Part 1: November 21, 2014
Mockingjay Part 2: November 20, 2015
Johanna Mason: Jena Malone
Mags: Lynn Cohen
Gloss: Alan Ritchman
Chaff: E. Roger Mitchell
There are also rumors for Finnick-Sam Clafin, and also for Romulus Thread (the new peacekeeper)-Patrick St Esprit.

That's all I know for now! -Kait

Review: Aussie Anti-Frizz Cream

Hey Girls!
As promised, I'm going to do a review on my new favorite anti-frizz cream. I picked up my Aussie Anti-Frizz cream at CVS, and I believe it was around $5. My friend Fiona recommended this to me, so I want to say thanks to her! I have flyaways at the top of my head, therefore it's hard to find an anti-frizz product that works, and doesn't make my hair to greasy looking. The cream is really cool. It almost has a gel feel to it. Anyways, I rub it between the tops of my fingers and lightly apply it to the top of my head and the bring it down. The only thing that people may not like about this product is that if you don't brush through your hair after, or apply it thoroughly through/on your hair, it will get a little crunchy. But the easy problem to solve that is just taking the tips of your fingers again and press down and move your fingers down. The crustiness isn't that crusty. It's kind of like if you left a little shampoo or conditioner in your hair. Personally, it's no big deal to me. But overall, I recommend this product!

TAG: Back to School

Hey Everyone!
Today I am doing the Back to School Tag which I was tagged by Maura from Polos Pearls & Bows! If you haven't already, check out her blog, it's awesome! Anyways, let's get into the post!

1. What grade are you going into? (Or year of college?)
I will be entering 8th grade, and for those who have a different grade system that's 13-14.

2. What are you excited and/or nervous for this year?
I'm excited to see my friends but I'm still a little nervous for grades, and classes and things like that.

3. What's your favorite part of getting ready for back to school?
I love shopping for not only clothes, but also supplies.

4. What grade were you in when you first starting wearing makeup?
7th grade!

5. Where or whom from do you like getting inspiration for back to school trends & styles?
Normally, I just do what I like. But most of the time YouTube. :)

6. What are your favorite upcoming "back to school"/fall trends for this year?
Hmm... honestly, I don't know much fall trends this year. But I do love wearing jeans and cute flats or boots, and I love sweaters/cardigans! (I call cardigans sweaters...)

7. Where do you like to go shopping for back to school supplies?
Normally Staples, and Walmart

8. What are your favorite stores to go back to school shopping?
I love Hollister, American Eagle, Forever 21, and a few other places, but those are my favorite!

9. Will you be carrying a backpack or a purse to school this year? Which do you prefer?
Since I'm still in middle school or junior high, (at least at my school) where not allowed to carry our back packs around. I don't know about purses (cause no one really does). But I will have a backpack this year.

10. What are 3 non-beauty essentials you HAVE to carry in your backpack/purse?
My phone, sometimes gum, and anti bacterial hand sanitizer!

11. What are 3 beauty essentials that you HAVE to carry in you backpack/purse?
I don't bring makeup to school, but if I did, probably concealer, mascara, and a lip balm.

12. What are your go-to hair products for this year, and what is your go to hair style?
My go-to hair product this year is my Aussie Anti-Frizz cream, which I am going to have a post on sometime this week. As for my hair style, normally I leave my hair down in its natural waves, but sometimes I'll straighten it, it just takes a while.

13. What are your go-to makeup products for this year and what is your go-to makeup look for school?
Oh my gosh guys! I'm going to wear mascara this year... yes taking a leap of faith. Haha, but a little eyeshadow (normally, UD Sin on lid, MAC All That Glitters in crease/lid, Stila Kitten in inner corner, curled lashes, and now mascara! :D Oh and sometimes concealer (MAC Mineralize Concealer).

14. What are your go-to clothing items for back to school, and what accessories to you plan to rock this year?
I have this weird obsession with blouses, so those. Also, flats, cardigans, UGGs (I live up north-ish so I can wear UGGs in like late October), that's all I can think of right now.

Hair Tip #3

Hey Girls!
Today I have a short post for you all, and it's another hair tip post. I've done two before (hence, the #3) and I will link the other two down below.
Do you shower with warm water? I do! Actually, if you shower with cold water, your hair will be less frizzy. Nothing like, "Oh my gosh, my hair has no frizz!" way, but more of just a little extra help. But personally, I don't like showering with cold water, so what I do is I shower first-do everything like that, and when I am about to turn the water off, I turn it to cold and let my hair get the cold water. Let me know if you try this out!
