Review: Soap and Glory's Glad Hair Day Shampoo

GLAD HAIR DAY™ SHAMPOO

Hey Everyone!
Today's review is on Glad Hair Day by Soap and Gory. I purchased this in the 'Do a Bubble Take Set' on Sephora, but I also found the shampoo alone on their website, here.
I absolutely love this shampoo! Since I have a small bottle, I don't really want to use it up fast, so what I do is I use my regular shampoo (a little less than usual) and lather that in my hair. Then I take a very small amount of this and lather that in my hair. I do this once every 2-3 weeks, because again, I don't have a ton.
The shampoo's consistency is very thick and when you put it on your hair, it lathers so, so well! I really like the scent, and it stays in for a whole day or so. I also think it cleans your hair great with out making it super clean. Overall, I really recommend this product!

Studying Tips!

Hey Everyone!
Today I have some quick studying tips for you that will hopefully help. I did a Homework Tips post and I asked you guys if you wanted to see more. So here's the 'more'.

  1. Write Notes or Vocab in Capital Letters: My teacher taught this to me this year. This is because when you write in lower-case your eyes follow the ups and downs and curves of the letter. When you write in all caps, it's easier and faster to read. i.e. YOU instead of you.
  2. Write in Pen: My teacher also taught this to me this year. It's the same idea of highlighting, but a little different. If you write in pen, those words will stand out more than any others or anything. For my vocabulary, my teacher tells us to write in all caps and in pen. The only words on the page are written in pen, but it helps keep you more focused.
  3. Study before Bed: Your mind is still working, for lack of a better word, when your sleeping, so you can remember what you were just thinking about than if you did it at another time.
  4. Eat: Eating will help keep your mind focused.
  5. Use a Strategy: For me, I find repetition works best. For some is might be mnemonics, or acronyms, etc.
Hope this helps! -Kait

Fall Fashion: Statement Scarves

Hey Girls!
I put together this outfit on Polyvore, and I wanted to share it with you! It's getting ready into fall, the scarf is a little more summer-y than a scarf I, personally, would wear in the middle-late fall. :) I also brought out the orange-red in the scarf with the nail polish, the plum-red in the bag, and the gold with the earrings and bracelet. I love statement scarves for fall, and in fact, I'm wearing one right now!

My Skincare Products and Use

Hey Everyone!
Today's blog post is on the three skincare products I love to use. My acne is not terrible, so this is a good routine for me and maintaining your skin. A little disclaimer is that I have not tried out so many products to have something to compare it to. I may say, "This is the best ___," but that's just the best for me. Long story short, some of these products you may love, while others-not so much. Anyways, let's get started!

*Links will take you to the product, all prices are USD.
1. Remove All Makeup
First I use my makeup remover, which technically isn't a skincare product, however it is the first product I use in my regimen. I use the Clinque Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes, and Lips. I got mine for $18 at Sephora. I really like this and it does take off makeup really well. It's not oil free, but you're only supposed to use on your eye area and lips. If you wanted to but this, but are worried it's going to make you oily, you can uses a wash cloth after and cleanse your face. :) I only wear mascara and eyeshadow, and sometimes concealer, so this works fine for me (for the concealer I will use a little of this; I will also use water, or my cleanser-it depends.) I use a cotton ball and gently rub it on my eyelids.

2. Exfoliate
Second I use my exfoliant. I use the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub which I got at Walmart for $4.47. I have a review here if you want to learn more. I take my finger and put a little bigger than a pea onto both my cheeks and forehead and take a smaller amount for my nose and chin.

3. Cleanse!
For cleansing my skin, I use my Fresh Soy Face Cleanser which I also got at Sephora. I absolutely love this stuff. It makes your skin really soft and it also takes off makeup well too. I highly recommend this! I also use a cotton ball and gently apply this all over my face. I take a wash cloth and lightly pat at my face.

4. Spot Treat
I use my CVS Pharmacy Targeted Acne Spot Treatment, which you can get at CVS. I have  review here. I do the same thing with the Clean and Clear product for application, but not as much. I do apply this all over my face because it helps maintain and prevent acne, but of course there's always that stubborn pimple!

That's all I do! I do all of this steps after my shower every other day, except cleansing because I don't have a lot of my Soy Face Cleanser. Thanks for reading! -Kait

September Favorites 2012

Hey Girls!
Last month, I didn't do an August Favorites because I didn't have much to share. However, this month I do have a few. There's only two makeup  products.:)

1. Korres Lip Butter 'Quince': This is a very moisturizing lip butter and I love it. It smells/taste good and I really like the color. I wanted a lip balm/butter with just a little bit of tint, and this is perfect!

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow 'Sin': The only reason I'm including this is my favorites is because I hit pan on it! Anyways, I have a review here if you want to check it out.
Macadamia Deep Repair Masque: I've been hearing a bunch of people talking about this, and it really is great! I might be doing a review on this in the future.

3. Soap & Glory's Glad Hair Day Shampoo: I am planning on  review for this product, but for now, it's a really great product and the smell lasts longer than my regular shampoos.

4. Carried Away Body Butter (B&BW): This scent reminds me a lot of Sweet Pea but it has a little more of a sour-sweet twist-which I think is the raspberry, but I really like, and I also really love Bath and Body Works' body butters.

5. Conair Curling Iron: I normally never curl my hair because I knew how to do it, but I wasn't good at actually curling my hair. I went over my friend's house one day and she curled my hair using the Conair curling iron and I really liked it. I have a 1 1/4 curling iron, so the barrel is a whole inch bigger, and I tried that out too and I liked it as well!

Other favorites!!
  1. Cheerios!! I'm going to go get some more now, but they're soo yummy!
  2. The Hunger Games Movie: This will always be a favorite, but I watched it so many times this month and in August, and guess what?! I can almost remember all the lines!! (Obsessed much?? Sorry!! LOL)
  3. Sims 2: Normally I switch off between that and Minecraft, but the computer got fried and I lost every sim family I made and houses I created and-*sigh*. Let's just keep it at that I've been using Sims 2 more than Minecraft.
  4. Sleep.... I can never get enough, well I can but-I'll just be quiet. (That's kinda ironic because I'm technically quiet because I'm typing, but you know.. I guess)
  5. Unwind by Neal Shusterman has been my favorite book this month! I actually read a lot this month, but I liked it the most.
Hope you guys enjoyed! If you did a Favorites blog post, link in the comments-I'll check it out! -Kait

Update: The "Exciting" Adventures of Why I've Been "Gone"

Hey Everyone!
Now you might be wondering of why I quoted exciting and gone in the title. Exciting was quoted because it's not that great of a story, for me, it's actually frustrating and annoying. As for the gone part, the last post I did was a week ago. Normally I check my blog everyday, however I only checked it twice (besides today). Now into my super exciting adventure. Once upon a time, there was/is a laptop on which I check my blog (generally speaking) everyday. Then somehow, the hard drive got fried. Lost the laptop from Sunday to Monday-not too bad right? Next, on Tuesday when I got home from school I had a really bad headache. I checked my temp. later and ended up having a slight fever. Later that night, I had a 101 degrees Fahrenheit fever. Ended up staying home from school Wednesday with a fever and a head cold. Tonight I have/did a bunch of homework. I'm actually still working on it now-watching the presidental debate. Anyways, sorry I've been gone, and I should have a post up soon. Also, I changed a few things around in my blog. I switched 'Follow by Email' to the bottom with a translator for my foreign readers and a few small other things. Let me know if you spot them. :) -Kait
